Bear and Honey Candle

Amazing experience! This is a cute, black woman-owned business! I loved that it seemed like a family affair! The owner is extremely creative and was making some hot chocolate candles. They were beautiful! I loved the wine and desert shaped candles too. Our instructor walked us through the steps carefully and was very patient and full of energy! I really enjoyed customizing my scent and coming up with a cute sexy name for my candle! This is a great date night activity!!

This is my second time going to Bear and Honey because I love making my own candles! You book your class ahead of time so there is no need to pay when you get there, unless you upgrade your candle size. I always up grade the size of my candle to a larger size because I want it to last as long as possible. The ladies who teach the classes are very knowledgeable and helpful, especially when you’re trying to create a custom scent for your candle. This last like I went, it was for my mom’s birthday and they sung to her along with two other lady’s, gave them a candle cupcake to keep and we had wine! They also have sparkling grape juice for the non alcoholic drinkers! Y’all this place is a vibe. Side note: I’ve only been on Saturdays and they have a DJ there who will play whatever you want to vibe to!

This place was super cute. Dee was our guide and she was nice. We made candles using coconut oil wax and chose our own scents. The toppings were really cool and realistic looking. We enjoyed decorating the candles and smelling the other candles in the store. You can also book a private candle making class as well! Such a fun experience!

So it was my turn to do an event for the girls and I to do. We try to get together the first Saturday of each month. For my event I had made reservations for us to do candle making and not just any candles but dessert candles at that. I love making desserts, so this was up my alley but with candles. The shop is so cute and they do candle making classes. I liked the dessert candle making because it's more intimate there are only 4 spots for it, whereas the other classes book several people for a class. The dessert making class is something new that they do and the lovely Derricka is the person that hosts the class. She is very sweet and creative with the dessert candles. You have four scents to choose from: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and peach (of course 😉). The candles are easy to make, and to cut down on curing time, you get a candle from a previous class, which is pretty smart. You can decorate your candle with sprinkles, gummies, crumbles, etc, all of which are made to burn with the candle. After you assemble the candle, you get to name it, which is a nice touch. We enjoyed the class so much. The shop itself has a nice supply of candles including ones that look like desserts and drinks! I recommend parking in the back of the establishment, since it's on a main street. Please let the parking person know you are there for Bear and Honey and you won't get charged to park.

Took my sister for part of her birthday celebration. We were a group of 5. The shop was super cute and smelled amazing. The way the class was held it didn’t really allow for times to make our drinks so don’t really feel like it’s BYOB experience. The class goes so fast with the instructions that not much time to mingle and really enjoy the experienced. Felt like a rushed process. The instructor seems very young as well that didn’t feel appropriate to even drink there. So even though loved my candle there’s too many other options of places to try that I don’t necessarily see myself back here. Rather try a more upbeat 1hour experience instead of a rushed 30 mins. This is not a hyped candle class more quiet do our own thing and be done. in and out
